SLC Partner Awarded National Level Grant for Research in Data Protection in Artificial Intelligence

SLC is pleased to announce that its data privacy and technology law partner, Darmain Segaran, is amongst the researchers awarded a grant from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Digital Society Research Grant 2021. The six (6) month research is on the topic of “Recommendations for the Creation of a Governance Framework for the Protection of Personal Data Used in the Development of AI Systems”. The research team shall be led by Dr. Jaspal Kaur of HELP University and includes Peter Kua, author of the Malaysia AI Blueprint as an industry advisory partner.
